Dear Home Depot Consumer Affairs:

I just wanted to drop you a short e-mail to let you know how much I enjoyed and appreciated a recent Home Depot commercial.

The commercial involves a compassionate passerby who happens upon a mother duck who's ducklings are trapped down a sewer. She can't find anyone to help and finally enlists the help of some of your Home Depot inventive and knowledgeable staffers and tools found in your store. They rescue the ducklings (pulling them one by one from the sewer in a net), and the passerby guides/leads them to safety.

While the purpose and deliberate message of yours or any commercial is to sell products, this commercial sells more--it sells the idea that Home Depot is a helpful and thoughtful home supplies retailer. There are a plethora of unkind commercials out these days--making light of accidents or mishaps of humans and animals. I, for one, am glad you took the high road and chose a more positive message. Its a little thing, but it'll make me think of your store the next time I need something for my home.
